Today, we live in a society of plenty. As soon as we leave home to go for a walk, we are directly pushed toward consumption. In town, in the village, motorway service area, at the seaside or in the mountains, we look for something to eat.
Ready-to-eat foods that come from food processing plants for which yield and profit are the priority. These “foods” with their constant novelties that are sold to us by means of intense advertising campaigns using TV, sponsors, newspapers, radio, internet sites etc.
And what about your health in all of that?
The main problem with our current way of eating is that it is based on processed foods which are denatured and also toxic for us as they also contain a lot of additives. All the additives are chemicals.
More than 35,000 pesticide molecules, about 3,000 various additives, herbicides, fertilisers and synthetic substances. And we know nothing about the consequences these have products for our bodies. They can cause birth defects, cancer, leukaemia, sterility, infertility, tremors, an increased risk of autism in children, obesity, etc.
Types of additives
E100 to E199
E162 (beetroot red)
E200 to E285
Microbiological changes are limited
E249 to E252: nitrates and nitrites (Cold cuts)
E300 to E321
Oxidation is limited
E300: ascorbic acid (Canned food)
E400 to E495
Homogenisation provides consistency and stabilisation of the physico-chemical state
E322: lecithins (Chocolate)
E325 to E384
E500 to E586
Modification of acidity
E322: citric acid (Soda)
E552: calcium silicate (Many dry products)
E620 to E641
Strengthens the aroma and the taste of foods
E620: glutamic acid (Dairy products)
E950 to E957
Gives a sweet taste
E420: sorbitol (Many bakery and confectionery products)
E421: mannitol (Many bakery and confectionery products)
But also gastric disorders, skin diseases, intestinal disorders, arterial tension etc.
The table above is a short list!
Unfortunately, we have a list ranging from E100 to E1521! 🙁 with more or less serious effects on our health. Many of their effects are still unknown 🙁
Some are banned in certain countries or in European Union but not in certain others and vice versa.
Also, even if they are banned in food items, it is still possible to use them in cosmetics.
In short, even if an additive is formally prohibited, there is always some country that allows what is forbidden in other countries, which will result, through import-export for example or via your trips, in finding the product right in front of you, all ready to be consumed.
Beware of certain additives that are permitted for organic products!
And do not forget that manufacturing aids are never reported: Vaseline, silicone oils used to prevent adhesion to the walls of moulds.
And certain traces of detergents and antiseptics used to wash and disinfect the material.
Stay away from all of them and prefer living foods instead – the products of the earth – that rot.
Not those that you can keep in their packing for several months!
Do not be surprised we no longer die of old age in our sleep. We are making ourselves sick as well our children.
The amount of information is confusing our brains. The blind faith we have in the people making these products prevents us from thinking. But also, the false excuses such as, “I do not have the time or energy”, “Organic food is expensive” etc.
Everyone has their own priorities. And I have mine, namely to take care of my body which on this earth is the most important and indispensable means of carrying out any secondary action, desire, dream, etc.
We all have the choice. Think about it… 🙂
What about you? Leave me a comment telling me about your priorities.
